This course introduces the essential cultural concepts needed to improve your communication skills and expand your understanding of Korea.

You will explore fascinating traditions, such as what people do on Chuseok or birthdays, the legend of how a bear became human after eating garlic, and the meaning behind celebrating a baby's first 100 days. Beyond textbook learning, you will also get to experience these customs firsthand, like playing the traditional Deowipalgi (Trade the Heat) game.

A special focus is placed on Korea's rich food culture, including how kimchi recipes vary by region, the history of seasonal dishes, and the clever storage methods that led to Korea's famous variety of side dishes.
